Residence visas can be obtained in following cases:
1.If the applicant owns property in UAE with a value exceeding 1 million dirhams. This visa is issued for a period of 2 years (renewable) and allows the applicant to open bank accounts in UAE, however working under this visa is not permissible.
2.Through employment with a company registered in the United Arab Emirates (Free Zone or LLC). Employee visa is issued for a period of 2 years (renewable), the applicant has right to open bank accounts and work in the United Arab Emirates.
3.If the applicant registers own company on the territory of the United Arab Emirates (Free Zone or LLC). The validity of the investor visa is 3 years (renewable), with the right to open bank accounts and run business in the United Arab Emirates.
4.A resident of UAE can sponsor his family (wife and children under 18 years), visas will be issued for the period of sponsor’s visa validity (renewable). The spouse can open bank accounts and work in UAE.
It normally takes three to four weeks to process the visa, provided the government authorities’ pre-approval is obtained in a course of few days.
It should also be noted that it is mandatory to provide bio-metrical data (retina scanning, fingerprints) and take several medical tests, that must be re-taken every time you renew your visa.
